Our horse transport business has been operating since 1945, and over the years established itself as a front runner in interstate horse transport as well as a national horse carrier.

Craig Horgan

Coming from an extensive background in transport, Craig is highly experienced in various senior management roles specializing in, General Management, Operations Management and Logistics.

By demonstrating a positive track record of delivering bottom-line value through winning new business, he is able to optimise systems and build high-performing teams.

Having developed a real interest in the thoroughbred industry, Craig enjoys attending race meetings and bloodstock sales around the country, and he hopes to race a successful galloper in the future.

On weekends, Craig enjoys watching his daughter playing netball and appreciates the great outdoors.

Michelle Tomlin

Coming up to three years at Goldners, Michelle works in accounts and finance administration. Being highly organised, a skill she learnt from being a travel agent in her previous life, she keeps everything ship shape in the office.

Michelle and her husband have travelled the world, and are now content to stay local and get away with their two girls down the South Coast in their caravan for annual family Christmas holidays.

Keeping Michelle busy on weekends, the girls are avid netball players and one day, the whole family hopes to realise a dream of her husband’s, to follow the V8 Supercars circuit around Australia for a year.

Nicole King

Working in operations at Goldners, Nicole has grown up with horses.

Her previous experience includes working at Wild Oaks Pre-Training, where she has handled the recent champion gallopers, She Will Reign, Chautauqua and Invader, while also assisting with their day-to-day running and administration duties.

Her favourite galloper is the Hawkes-trained, gelding Storm Force. A tricky character, his challenging, but cheeky personality won Nicole over.

Having enjoyed riding dressage with her own horses, Nicole has now turned her interests to breeding, and she is looking forward to the arrival of her first foal by the Emirates Park stallion, Mulaazem this spring.

Ashley Johnson

Having just begun her Goldners journey, Ashley steps into the role of financial controller, having a previous history in banking.

Looking forward to learning more about the racing industry, she is proud of the quality Goldners stands for and looks forward to working with the down to earth team.

Ashley has two children and two goldfish. Having never met “a food” she doesn’t love, she enjoys cooking, music and singing in her spare time. While Ashley has travelled to New York and Italy, on top of her bucket list is to make the trip far north, to see the spectacular northern lights.

Her favourite quote is “You don’t have to be perfect, to be awesome”

Jason Garske

Jason has been an important part of the Goldners team since 2008, looking after the busy and challenging role of operations. Coming from 14 years in horse transport, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the day-to-day movements of the fleet.

Jason prides himself in the planning, organisation, and logistical expertise that ensure that everything runs to time at Goldners.

With the incredible mare, Black Caviar being his favourite racehorse, he admits he’s pretty happy anytime he backs a winner.

On top of Jason’s bucket list is to travel to Vegas and if he could meet anyone living or dead, its Elvis…That’s lucky as I’m pretty sure he will find a few of them there!

Neville Couchman

Neville looks after NSW as operations manager, focusing on racehorse movements and looking after trainers needs. He takes great pride in the quality of our fleet and is hands on in many aspects of the business.

Neville has had extensive experience within the thoroughbred industry, holding his trainers license for 17 years in Cambridge, New Zealand.

His greatest thrill as a trainer was winning his first Group 1 with top sprinter Gee I Jane in NZ. Bringing her across the Tasman, she went on to claim victory in the Group 1 BTC Cup and was runner-up in the Group 1 Stradbroke and the Group 2 Winter Stakes.

With his three kids now keeping him busy outside of work, he enjoys all sports, listening to music and spending holidays anywhere warm.

Neville’s favourite quote is “Never worry what other people think of you, as what people think of you is none of your business.”

Justin Roesler

Justin is operations and maintenance coordinator for Goldners in South Australia.

Having been with Goldners since 2011, Justin has worked in the thoroughbred industry previously at Lindsay Park Racing at their Melbourne and Angaston stables. There he held a number of roles including raceday foreman, pre-training and spelling supervisor, track work-rider as well as in-house interstate truck driver.

Justin’s favourite racehorse was the Hayes trained Zizou, a gallant runner up in the Blue Diamond and the Golden Slipper and he enjoys football and golf in his spare time and listening to country music in the truck.

On Justin’s bucket list is to marry his fiancé, Georgi this August and they have a little boy Parker and their dog, Harley.

Justin’s favourite quote is “Don’t take life too seriously, you will never get out of it alive!”

Eddie Benness

Eddie is based in Melbourne. Starting as a Goldners driver, he is now Operations and Maintenance coordinator for Victoria.

With over 30 years experience, he previously worked with ITG National, Phillip Hanna Horse Transport and Chapmans Horse Transport.

Eddie brings a wealth of knowledge to the Goldners Team, and having see them grow and expand through the years he is looking forward to being part of the future.

His favourite racehorse was the “Bonnie” Hoystead trained Manikato – a true champion. In his spare time his two girls, Tayla and Caitlyn keep him busy while he tries to catch the V8 Supercars.

Loving to travel, his favourite destination is South East Asia and his favourite food is Thai.

Number one on his bucket list is retiring, which I’m tipping will be somewhere warm, tropical and close to Thailand!
